Silver bee necklace by welsh designer Phillippa of Pa-pa jewellery. British cowries (triviidae) are small, pinky white shell and can be found washed up along our rocky reefs on Gower. Thought to be symbols of fertility and good luck these pretty shells have a lovely stripped pattern on the back perfect for representing and resembling the stripes on a honey bee.
The worlds greatest pollinators, our bees are under threat of extinction. Help the honey bees, we try to buy local Gower honey which helps towards bee hive maintenance and monitoring of local bee numbers.
Pa-pa has combined the two to create this magical design in soild silver to celebrate both the beautiful bees and cowrie shells.
