Silver cockle shell bangle
Silver cockle shell bangle
Gower cockle shell bangle made in the silversmithing workshop by the beach on Gower. This 925 silver single bangle 2mm thick has a solid silver cockle shell and real white or blue black pearl drop.
On the Burry Inlet on the edge of the Gower Peninsula, South Wales these tasty cockles have been harvested since the roman times. The women of Penclawdd, the small village on the estuary, used to pick the shells to earn extra cash while their husbands were working down the coal mines.
The cockle shells are solid silver and not dipped or coasted and have been cast from empty baby cockle shells washed up at local Gower beaches here in wales.
Pa-pa's Gower seashell collection is a perfect reminder of Gowers stunning beaches and coastline.
